  • You’re going to have to work hard – really hard – to get that body you want.  But if you can put in the effort, this is the book that gives you the method.  No bulls*** and no fluff.  Just simple, hardgainer techniques to build that lean, strong physique you’ve always dreamed of.

The Bottom Line

Originated from Bronx, New York –Vince Gironda, born November 9, 1917 developed a career in bodybuilding in his early age. He started lifting weights at age 22 in YMCA,vince gironda Who Is Vince Gironda? after almost a year of training with YMCA he moved to Easton brothers ‘gym. At Easton, he was taught to become weight instructor and had worked as gym trainer, while doing so he began to develop a training protocol in which he introduced and applied in his own gym at North Hollywood, California in 1948.

As bodybuilding instructor, he never follows the conventional training methods and procedures, not like the many other physique trainers. He has his own style in training, like; sissy squats, hack lifts, front squats and his special “thigh squat” exclusive for thigh development. He rebukes using the regular bench press because he believes this is an inferior exercise but instead he regarded the neck press wherein with a wide grip, the bar is lowered to the neck rather than to the chest. Gironda’s dips considered to be the best overall pectorali developer (working at the V-bar).

Gironda’s advocacy was that bodybuilding is 85% nutrition. He was also the vindicator of low carb dieting and suggested to consider taking various food supplements. He even had his own prescriptions equivalent to Anabolic Steroid Dianabol. He refers to this as taking 36 fertile eggs a day taken along with unpasteurized and unhomogenized raw milk.

Vince’s reputation extended to as personal trainer because many of his students became a title holder of almost all significant contests. The very famous is the first IFBB Mr. Olympia in 1965, Larry Scott. The famous bodybuilders of all time, like; “The Incredible Hulk” – Lou Ferrigno, “The Terminator” – Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Body by Jake” – Jake Steinfield, “three times Mr. Olympia” – Frank Zane and “Mr. World 1968 – Don Howorth”.

At early 1950’s, Vince was the famous trainer of both bodybuilders and Hollywood actors. He was known as the fastest trainer shaper in his time. Vince’s Gym has trained most of the outstanding actors nowadays like; Denzel Washington, Clint Eastwood, James Garner, Robert Blake, Cher, Erick Estrada, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tommy Chong and Brian Keith.

Gironda’s accomplishments and being famous to Bodybuilding industry and prominent personal trainer, Denie Walter former magazine editor and journalist gave him the title “THE IRON GURU”. He got this title because of his different approach and style of training his students.

Vince Gironda continued his walks in his personal trainer career and added to write a countless articles for Iron Man, he opened a company for nutrition supplement products and become a writer of his own training modules and nutrition manuals. He’s book “Unleashing the Wild Physique” was published in 1980’s by Robert Kennedy in collaboration of MuscleMag.

Vince’s Gym was closed in November 1995, due to the fast pacing demands of the state of the art gyms and new personal trainers using new technology, this made a simple and small gym the difficulty to survive.  And two years after the Vince’s Gym had its last operation; October 18, 1997, Vince Gironda finally closed the chapter of his existence.

But as they say, you cannot halt something beautiful that contributes a great impact into our society. A legendary will always continue. His legendary courses those are still unsurpassed today and tomorrow.
